GMA announces partnership with CollabFactory to act as a reseller and implementation partner for SFConnector

February 2013 – GMA Consulting is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement with CollabFactory to act as a reseller and implementation partner for their innovative SFConnector product which enables the cost-effective integration of Salesforce and SharePoint.

GMA is CollabFactory's first European partner and is delighted that it has been granted exclusive reseller rights for SFConnector for the financial services sector in the UK.

SFConnector enables cost-effective and easy to implement sharing and synchronizing of information between Salesforce and SharePoint. It uses the native web service API of Salesforce and is fully supported by both platforms.

GMA achieves Microsoft Silver Partner status for Collaboration and Content

November 2012 – GMA is pleased to announce that it has achieved Silver Partner status in the newly formed Microsoft Collaboration and Content competency which was created by the merging of the Portals and Collaboration, Content Management and Search competencies. Our status is an indication of our broad range of skills in delivering business applications built around the Microsoft SharePoint platform and related technologies.

GMA hosts its website in the latest release of Windows Azure

September 2012 – GMA is now hosting its website in the latest release of Windows Azure, Microsoft’s public cloud platform.

GMA has for some time been at the forefront of utilising the Azure platform to host SharePoint implementations for our clients as well as ourselves. Prior to the latest release SharePoint was not natively supported in Azure. To overcome this limitation GMA developed custom components which integrated with the Azure re-imaging process and enabled SharePoint to be hosted. Our cutting edge work in this area has been recognised by Microsoft.

The latest release of Azure provides a gallery of pre-configured Windows Server virtual machine images, backed by an up to 99.95% SLA, which support Microsoft server-based applications such as SharePoint, SQL Server and Active Directory.

To host its website GMA provisioned a Windows Server VM from the Azure gallery which enabled us to rapidly and easily set up the required website infrastructure.

Hosting our website in Azure is a showcase for our capabilities in utilising cloud technology for SharePoint deployment and demonstrates our confidence in the Azure platform.

May 2012 – On May 1st GMA Consulting held an exclusive breakfast briefing at the St. James Hotel and Club in central London.

Attendees included senior-level technology and operations executives from a range of blue chip global asset managers and hedge funds.

The guest speaker was Stephen McGibbon, Microsoft’s Regional CTO for EMEA, who provided the audience with an insight into Microsoft’s roadmap for the Windows Azure cloud platform followed by an extensive Q&A session.

GMA launches new website built on SharePoint 2010 and hosted in Windows Azure

October 2011 – GMA is pleased to announce is pleased to announce the release of its new website built on Microsoft SharePoint 2010. The website is hosted on the Windows Azure cloud platform using GMA’s custom Azure Accelerator capability.

The costs of a SharePoint-based application hosted in Azure can be kept very low as the minimum requirements are:

• SharePoint Foundation 2010 (free download)
• SQL Server 2008 R2 Express Edition (free download)
• Windows Azure small compute instance with 50gb of storage - approx £60-70 per month.
• Windows External Connector License (only needed if authentication to the site is required) – approximately £2,000.

GMA believes that running its own website on SharePoint and hosting it in Azure will demonstrate the cost effectiveness and stability of cloud-based applications.

GMA launches cloud-based SharePoint Azure Business Continuity Portal Solution

July 2011 – GMA Consulting is pleased to announce the release of its cloud-based Business Continuity portal solution which is built on SharePoint 2010 and hosted on the Windows Azure platform. It is the first solution to be launched using GMA’s SharePoint Azure Accelerator capability.

GMA Consulting’s Business Continuity portal solution, a pre-configured SharePoint 2010 site collection hosted on the Windows Azure platform, is an effective and flexible yet low-cost way to enable staff to find the information they need in the event of a crisis situation:
